Balestrate
Balestrate, province of Palermo is a town of about 6000 inhabitants, lies in the heart of the Gulf of Castellammare and borders to province of Trapani. The same distance (40 kilometers) east direction to Palermo and Trapani in the west, is of strategic importance for the holidays. Balestrate is a small touristic town and houses a touristic port with a capacity of more than 400 berths and ranks among the largest in southern Italy. In the summer the beaches of Balestrate are well crowded but well-organized and provide maximum comfort and organisation, to be found : Bathing structures, inflatable boats for rent, rent a car, Tourist Information, Restaurants, Pizzerias, Spaghetteria, bars, supermarkets, pubs, discotheques and much more for young people. During the warm nights, all night clubs near Balestrate become alive, so many young people, going out to have fun. Balestrate is also a place for those who want to spend a vacation in pure relax. There are numerous offers from the locals, guided tours with the fishing boat in Balestrate, wellness for relaxation, guided tours in the province of Palermo and anywhere in the province of Trapani, Sicily. The most important religious festivals of Balestrate are: St. Joseph with altars and easter  panels, the festival of St. Peter 29th June is a cult in this city, that attracts visitors from all over the province of Palermo, "Addolorata"  on 15 September, "Immaculate" December 8th.
Artistic and cultural events like the carnival, organized by "III Millennio", with tens of thousands of people who each year participate at the carnival parade, "Carnevalandia" a carnival celebration for children; "The Cross" and the Festival of St Peter , organized by the cultural association F. Evola, concerts, organized by the Music Association V. Bellini, theatrical comedies, local theatre groups, in cooperation with the cultural association Filippo Evola.

The climate is characterized by mild temperatures in winter and prolonged hot summer days. Fog is a phenomenon almost completely absent, the scant rainfall is concentrated in the winter months. The temperatures during the months of January and February hardly falls below 5 ° C. During the summer months of June, July and August temperatures up to 45 degrees can be reached.
