Palermo
Palermo ("Palermu" in sicilian) is the capital of the region and the same Sicilian province.
It is the fifth city in Italy for urban population (666552 inhabitants), after Rome, Milan, Naples and Turin and 30 at European level. It is the most important cultural, historical and economic management of the Region of Sicily. The city of Palermo is on 43rd Place in Europe by number of inhabitants (1237000 inhabitants). His thausand year old story has a remarkable artistic and architectural heritage by the Punic remains of walls up to the small villas of "liberty" and  the Arab-Norman-style residences, Baroque churches and neo-classical theater. From a cultural, artistic and economic view, it was one of the largest cities in the Mediterranean and is now one of the most important tourist destinations in the region and beyond.

The area of Palermo was originally marked by great levels of many rivers and streams, large wetlands,  the area is surrounded espacially of mountains (Monti di Palermo),  the summit in winter are often covered with snow, which makes the landscape image more impressive . The level of Palermo looks  on the Tyrrhenian Sea and is located behind the Conca d'Oro. The arrangement of the city is directed along the coast, leading to a long coastal expansion, and thus less penetration into inland. Currently, the rivers dried up (most of them still flow underground). Unfortunately, the town is not yet at the level of anthropogenic saturation, as in other Italian cities, and this is the reason that in recent years, permits for the construction of large shopping malls have been adopted (previously non-existent).

There are not many cities such as Palermo, the show testimonies of different cultures of the conquerors over the last centuries, from the Romans to the Byzantines, the Arabs to the Normans, Swabians by up to the French, the Spaniards and the Austrians, all have distinctive left behind traces of their stay, a proof exceptional value, which characterizes forms and styles, from northern Europe to Africa, the Middle Ages to the Baroque so often have lead to original creations in the artistic, architectural and decorative.

The nightlife of Palermo and the premises in recent years increased quite a lot, one of the  centers is undoubtedly the area of Piazza Teatro Massimo. Numerous the  pubs and discotheques, in winter and summer well attended. Some Bars organize evenings with live music, for lovers of typical cuisine dinner  in some of the typical Sicilian restaurants and pizzerias. Traditionally in the hot nights, the Sicilian ice, unique in its taste, Province of Palermo offers specialties unique in the world, except the ice, "cassata siciliana" together with the cannolo, just a few of the many culinary delights to Sicily. Palermo is one of the most beautiful seaside tourist destinations in Italy, there are different types of accommodations for tourists, among  them apartments for rent.
